An oasis on the beach: Bistro food at BadenBaden

If you are in Helsinki this summer and the weather is warm, there is only place to be: Hietaniemi beach (in Finnish ‘Hietaniemen ranta’; colloquially ‘Hietsu’)! Once you are there, you ought to check out Bistro Badenbaden.

Theron Catering provides delicious bistro food at Bistro Badenbaden by Hietsu, the most popular sand beach in downtown Helsinki. This summer beach-goers can enjoy simple, familiar, affordable bistro food, while taking a swim and sunbathing.

Private parties for companies that include live music and a buffet table can also be organised on Thursdays and Fridays. The terrace is open for everyone, while the indoors could be booked for private functions. Get in contact with Theron Catering to book Bistro Badenbaden for your occasion!

The menu is designed by Theron Catering’s CEO Tero Blom. “The idea is good and simple food for everybody: pasta, burgers, soups and salads. We provide dishes for children, too. Welcome with your friends or family to eat, drink and enjoy the sun!” says Jarno Mäkisalo, restaurant manager at Bistro Badenbaden, who works long hours with his team to serve you at Bistro Badenbaden.

On summer weekends, Bistro Badenbaden is filled with people every day from 11-20. You can also grab your ice coffee, cold beverage, sweet or savoury snacks or ice creams throughout the day, or enjoy your lunch from the lunch buffet selection (served from 11-14) or select any dish from the à la carte menu (served from 14-19) that features bistro dishes considered ‘classics’ in the Finnish cuisine as well as international staples such as salads, soups, burgers and pasta dishes.

I had the pleasure visiting Bistro Badenbaden a few weeks ago on a sunny day and tasted many dishes from the à la carte menu with my family. We all enjoyed every single dish as well as the scenery. Take a look of what we had, mouth-watering, huh?

Jarno Ioves salads, burgers and –of course– the classic salmon soup. “Finns love salmon soup, yet people don’t cook it at home anymore,” he explains.  “Everyone is welcome here to taste our food! Bistro Badenbaden is a hiddem gem, people love this place once they visit and always return,” says Jarno.

Meri on lähellä, vieressä. Itämereen liittyy paljon symboliikkaa pääkaupunkiseudulla, kuten myös historiallisessa Loviisassa. Merestä on muodostunut niin ikään tärkeä osa Theronia. Eikä pidä unohtaa, että Theronin omistaja ja toimitusjohtaja Tero Blom on aloittanut uransa saaristosta. Merellinen Helsinki on poikkeuksellisen kiinnostava lähestulkoon missä tahansa mielessä. Entisiä niin sanottuja suljettuja saaria on hiljattain avattu yleisölle,... Lue lisää →
